The results are in. After 14 tournaments spread across April 30th to May 31st,Jean Paul, known at the tables as JP has been crowned the inaugural Caius Monthly League Champion, walking away with GHc 40,000 and the bragging rights that come with being the first.
It wasn’t a smooth ride from the start; JP started slow — the kind of start that makes you wonder if things will click. But by the second week of May something shifted. He broke into the Top 10 and from that point, he didn’t look back. Finished on 101 points, 14 clear of second place. That’s not luck, that’s someone who found their rhythm and rode it all the way home.
Final Standings
🥇 JP — 101 pts — GHc 40,000
🥈 Reuben — 87 pts — GHc 25,000
🥉 Tushar — 79 pts — GHc 20,000
4th: Bassem — 76 pts — GHc 10,000
5th: Yours Truly — 55 pts — GHc 5,000
JP had this to say after the win:
“Appreciate the love guys. Came to play, came to win. Poker tip for everyone chasing it: stop playing cards, start playing people. Tight range, position control, and zero tilt — that’s the edge. Luck brings you to the table, skill keeps you there. I’ll see you all at the next one. I’m not giving that top spot up easy.”
That’s a statement of intent right there.
Congrats to everyone who competed across the 14 tournaments. And big respect to Caius for putting together a well-structured inaugural league. If this first edition is anything to go by, the next one is going to be even more competitive.
See you at the tables.
